Sourced from a dismantled bridge in Wales, the large Ekki and Greenheart beams were meticulously repurposed through a series of sustainable processes. It was first re-sawn, cut to precise lengths, and then planed and drilled before being fitted to custom-made steel frameworks. This careful transformation ensured that the timber retained its character (including original holes, etc) while meeting the high standards required for urban public spaces.

Furthermore, reusing post-consumer timber and upcycling it for a new lease of life meets FSC Recycled standards, so all the timber supplied by Ecochoice was FSC certified. One of the key outcomes of using third-party certified FSC Recycled timber is the significant reduction of pressure on valuable natural resources for virgin timbers.
