Ekki - Durable Hardwood Timber

Tropical hardwood Ekki is one of our main products, being that it is also one of the hardest and most durable timber species on the planet. This makes Ekki a particular favourite for civil and marine projects such as piers, groynes, etc.

Coming from FSC® forests in West Africa, Ekki (or Azobe) has a wonderful combination of mechanical properties, density and durability.

Ekki (botanical name Lophira Alata) is used in a variety of civil and marine projects such as:

  • Footbridges
  • Fenders
  • Piling
  • Lock gates
  • Decking
  • Jacking
  • Drag/Bog/Navvy mats
  • Bearers and joists

We can offer sawn, planed, drilled and/or chamfered large and small sections in FSC® Ekki and Opepe, direct from our partner sawmills in Europe for quick delivery, or straight from Africa for longer lead-time projects.
